Teaching about the Holocaust
A workshop for San Diego area classroom teachers
March 30, 2007 • 8:00am to 4:30pm at SDSU
This comprehensive professional development opportunity will explore
the content, methodologies, and rationales for teaching this complex history.
- Emphasis will be placed on using technology to teach about the holocaust with special
attention given to the extensive online resources provided by the Museum.
- Morning session will take place via teleconference with experts
at the USHMM in Washington, DC.
- A hands-on afternoon session will explore the use of WebQuests and the
QuestGarden authoring tool to teach about the Holocaust.
- Participants
will receive:
- curriculum materials developed by the United States Holocaust
Memorial Museum,
- a complimentary one-year museum membership, and
- a one-year subscription to QuestGarden.
Lunch will be provided.
Preference will be given to teams of teachers from the same school.
Middle and high school teachers in all academic disciplines are encouraged
to apply. There is no cost to
participants. Participation is limited to 50 applicants.
