Write a daily account from the point of view of a particular individual in a specific time and place.

Instructional Purpose

To develop understanding of a particular time and place or of a specific individual. To develop the concept of point of view.




Can be used in social studies to develop understanding of specific places both now and in the past. Can also be used in language arts to delve more deeply into a fictional character. (See also the Beyond the Book design pattern.



Have groups within a single class create diaries of the same person at different stages of life. Or different people who were contemporaries.
